How do I get my temporary permit?
Once you are 15 years and 5 months old, you can go to an examination station. You will need to take documentation of your legal name, birth date, social security number and proof of residency. At the examination station, you will take a vision and a written examination. You will also answer questions about your physical health and any medical conditions you may have. Once you pass these, you need to go to the local Deputy Registrar. You will need to take the same documentation of your legal name, birth date, social security number and proof of residency you needed at the examination station. If you are under 18 years of age, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, or person having legal custody. The co-signer must also take documentary proof of his or her identification. Once the temporary permit is issued, you will be able to practice driving but only if you are accompanied by a licensed driver in the seat next to you.
